Jens Hittmeyer, CIO at KWS Saat joining panel discussion on buyer side aspects of IT-sourcing / IT-services
The 56 years old marine engineer Jens Hittmeyer is working as a Head of Global IT / CIO for KWS SAAT SE, Einbeck (Germany), since February 2017. Between Aug 2014 and Jan 2017 he was acting as CIO for Aenova Holding (Starnberg), a pharmaceutical contract manufacturer. Prior to that he stayed six years with Daiichi Sankyo (Japanese pharmaceutical company) responsible for IT-operations both in Munich (EU-CIO) and New Jersey (Regional IT-Head of North-, Central and South America). Until Jul 2008 he was acting five years as CIO for the German hardware manufacturer MAXDATA AG. Before that Mr. Hittmeyer worked in managerial functions for several divisions of the IVG concern, located in Bonn (Germany). Mr. Hittmeyer started his career in the IT arena as a consultant and project manager at ACS Systemberatung GmbH, based in Hamburg.
Mr. Hittmeyer is responsible for the consequent alignment of IT and business strategy within KWS. Taking “digitalization” as a headline Mr. Hittmeyer has to redefine the ERP-strategy of KWS and to introduce cloud-based applications to react on market and customer demands in a more agile way. In detail he is currently introducing MS Office 365, Salesforce and SuccessFactors to name just a few. Furthermore KWS-IT has to improve the so called “Precision Farming” tools KWS is offering to the farmers for yield, productivity and quality increase. He is leading a team of 53 high-skilled co-workers dedicated to an application or SAP-module. Programming and customizing work is done by selected partners clearly managed by SLAs.
